Frequently Asked Questions:
How are tattoos removed?
Your certified laser specialist will use a Q- switched laser. The laser that Tat 2 Undo uses is the Quanta Q plus C. This is the most technologically advanced laser on the market today.
Is the removal process painful? Most clients describe the pain as similar to that of getting the tattoo, except it takes far less time. It’s also been compared to the feel of a rubber band snapping against the skin. All treatments are accompanied by the Freddo Fabinject chiller , a device that cools the skin for comfort throughout the removal process. We also offer a topical anesthetic that can be applied to the skin before the treatment for maximum comfort.
Will I have a scar? Scarring is a possibility but is not common, particlarly with newer machines that reduce the heat to the surrounding tissue. More common, especially when removing colors other than black ink, is hypo or hyperpigmentation. This is a reaction with the melanin in your skin that can last for a few years. You can reduce your risks for both scarring and hypo/hyper pigmentation by avoiding sunlight during the ink removal process and by following the aftercare instructions given by Tat 2 Undo.
How many sessions will it take? At Tat 2 Undo we use the “Kirby-Desi” scale to determine how many sessions it will take. This scale will give us an educated estimate of number of treatments. No one can accurately determine how many sessions you will need since types of ink pigments, body location, tobacco use, overall health, and pressure used during application of the tattoo are all factors.
How long does the treatment take? Each treatment only takes a few minutes to complete. The inital consultation and treatment takes approximately a half hour.
What types of tattoos can be treated? Tat 2 Undo can treat professional, amateur, medical, and traumatic tattoos. We are one of the only clinics in Northern Colorado that can treat ALL colors of ink.
How long do I have to wait before my next session? Tat 2 Undo recommends waiting 6-8 weeks between sessions for the best results.
Who does the procedure? A certified laser specialist will perform the procedure. Our medical director will review and maintain all patient files. If complications arise, our MD will be available to consult with you.
